Over a month ago, we had snow...

We had a little snow before Christmas (I think it was before Christmas). The boys enjoyed playing in it with Dad. Mom, is WAY too boring. I don't let them throw snowballs at me or anything fun l like that.

Since that time, we haven't had any additional "good" snow. I certainly am not complaining. I HATE shoveling!

Happy 5th Birthday Brenton!

Brenton's birthday was on Sunday January 10th. Since we had gone to Chuck E. Cheese on Saturday, we still felt we needed to celebrate his birthday on his actual birthday.

We had the Sevy's over for Brenton's family birthday party. The highlight for Kale and I, was when Brenton saw his cake for the first time. He was literally speechless. He said, "I...I...well....ah....THAT IS THE COOLEST CAKE EVER!!!!" So much fun (especially since he had asked for a Diego cake and we didn't comply with that request). Kale had the amazing idea to make the helicopter fly...and I think that was what made Brenton the happiest.

Love ya Brenton. I can't believe you're already 5!

Chuck E. Cheese

Guess where we went for Brenton's birthday party...We invited a few of his "best friends" and their parents along, plus Danny & Crystal. Besides Alex being deathly afraid of Chuck E. it was really fun.

Christmas

For Christmas, we were blessed to have Patty, Britt (Kale's mom & Sister) and Scott (my brother) come and stay. It was wonderful! We had so much fun.

For Christmas dinner, we had a fried food menu. Patty & Britt made us Won-tons. Amazingly good. Aunt Elaine usually makes them while we're down in Utah for the holidays.

They loved the big-wheels, but more importantly, the LOUD honking-horns that Patty bought to go with them. Yes, Scooter got a leg lamp for Christmas.

We played a lot of Rock Band...

and even Bunsen had a great Christmas.
The boys loved their new big-wheels. We bundled up and took them for a ride. Brenton took off right away and was amazingly fast. Once the weather is good, I'm going to have to take him on the bike path while I go running.

Alex did great, also...but he had a hard time reaching the pedals. With a few modifications, he'll love it even more!

We had a great Christmas. I hope everyone else did, also.

Alex's Birthday

Alex had his 3rd birthday on December 21st. (Yes, I'm still pretty far behind on updating our blog.) We are so blessed to have many people in our lives that love our wonderful children.

My parents gave this "cake" to Alex last year for his birthday. We now get it out for every one's birthday. Believe it or not, it took 30 minutes WITH AN AIR PUMP to blow up. Last year we didn't have an air pump with the proper adapter. Thank goodness for the small blessings in life!

Alex invited Danny, Crystal, Dannielle, Tony & Grandma Sevy over for his birthday. It was a great time.
Danny & Crystal gave Alex the Nerf gun for his birthday. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, except for his mom.

Yes, I am aware that Alex is a boy. He had told me for weeks that he wanted a Dora the Explorer and Boots birthday cake. Unfortunately, this was the most "boyish" decorations I could find. Pathetic, I know. I'm sure when he's older he'll be really annoyed at me for making him this cake, but on his 3rd birthday, he LOVED it! It was just what he asked for.

We love you Alex, and are so blessed to have you part of our family!

Utah

My Grandma Haslem died during Thanksgiving break. I was blessed enough to be able to go to Utah for the funeral. Kale stayed home with the kids, so I could just quickly fly down and not have to worry about chasing kids around. (I love you!)

My entire immediate family was able to make it. It was so much fun to all be together again, even if it wasn't for the happiest event.

The family that bought my grandparents home held a WONDERFUL breakfast for all of us Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc.. that were there attending the funeral. We got to see all the renovations that were done, enjoy good food, and spend time in the home our parents grew up in.
This is how Scott & Brent spent most of the time. Just like back in high school!

The night before we all left to either fly home or drive, we all stayed in the same motel room.
It was at least a suite...but we were still pretty "close" for the night. It was lots of fun to all be together. Thanks Mom & Dad.
