Halloween Part 5: Trick or Treating and Carnival

We once again went trick-or-treating to a few people we knew, and one select street in Pinehurst (they actually block off the road from traffic...really nice!).

After spending less than an hour outside, we headed to the carnival at the local elementary school. The boys had a blast there!

Thanks Danny, Crystal, and Katie for joining us this year. It was loads of fun!

Halloween Part 4: Costumes & Cookies

Brenton was once again a pirate. (He found the hook/sword pack at the store while shopping for costumes, and fell in love with them. I told him he could be a pirate again if he used his costume from last year. He agreed, and I was grateful for the $4 costume:)

Alex really wanted to be Green Lantern, but then found this Cars costume, and fell in love with hit. I think it's supposed to be some kind of pit crew costume, but I'm not sure. It certainly wasn't my favorite costume in the store. Alex, for some reason, thought it was the coolest thing ever! When people asked him what he was, he responded, "Lightning McQueen!"

Halloween Part 3: Brenton's Class Party

Alex really lucked out. Since Alex didn't have preschool during Brenton's party, he got to tag along. So...he really got two class parties. LUCKY!

Below: After snacks, they went into the gym and played a game of tag. It was one that I remember playing as a kid. I don't remember it being complicated, though. The poor K-1 class couldn't seem to figure out how it really worked. None the less, they did seem to have a lot of fun.

Halloween Part 2: Alex's Class Party

Alex's preschool had a Halloween party during class. Super fun to see the little kids in their costumes, and how proud each of them were.

Below: Each kid stood up in the front of the class and told everyone about their costume. It surprised me how shy they all got as soon as they went up to the front.

Below: I don't even remember this kids name, but I LOVED his costume! He looked like a little Lego StarWars guy. Super cute!

Halloween Part 1: Church Activities

To start out our Halloween celebrations, we had a church Primary activity. The kids went to a couple of local nursing homes and sang some Halloween songs (some simple kid songs with the words changed to make them Halloween/Harvest related).

The following Friday evening, our ward had a Harvest party/trunk or treat. The boys certainly got the use out of their costumes this year. :)

Brenton's Field Trip

A few weeks ago Brenton's class (K-1), along with the 2-3 class, went on a field trip to Siemers Farm at Green Bluff. I went as a Chaperone, and was able to bring Alex along with me (I drove my own car).

The boys had loads of fun. The only complaint really, was that it was super cold to start with. At least it seemed that way. By lunch time, we were so cold, that we actually ate our lunch in the car with the heater turned all the way up.

I was super proud of Brenton. He included his brother in everything. He let Alex hang out with him and his school friends, and I don't think they even fought one time. Go brothers!

We left with a bag of apples (that I bought), a small pumpkin each (that was included in the admittance price, and super cute animal hats (which I haven't taken a picture of yet).

Have I said that I love Brenton's school?

There was this little barrel train that the boys absolutely loved. They went on it several times.

They also had a larger "train" that took us around the entire orchard. It amazes me how many apples one orchard produces. It was absolutely beautiful.

The pumpkin patch!

They had this amazing pirate ship play area. The boys spent a lot of time there, also. It had the plank, a ladder inside to climb up, the steering wheel, and a slide to go back down.

I failed to get pictures of the castle tower, corn maze, and the giant pedal go-carts. The boys enjoyed all of the things there, and it ended up being a very nice day, that ended much too quick.
