North Idaho Bike Trailer

At the beginning of spring, our neighbor kids were putting together a bike trailer for themselves. I couldn't help but take a picture. It just goes to show how poor the people here are. I'm only partially kidding.

(They actually did use it!)

Brotherly Love

We take the boys in-line skating quite often. We have an amazing paved bike trail close to our home. The boys sit together in the jogger eating snacks while we skate behind. This time, Brenton put his arm around Alex right when they got in, and it stayed there for quite a while.

Misc. Fun

A friend of ours gave us this 4-wheeler for the boys. Both of them loved it! They both got on, stepped on the gas "battery" pedal and went full speed ahead while laughing. We couldn't believe they just knew what to do. Thanks Tennille!

Toad

This is what Kale found when he opened up our sprinkler turn-on box the first time this year. Our only guess, is that last year it burrowed down into the mud for the winter. It was a large toad, but actually seemed pretty skinny. We took it to a small pond down the road from our house, and I'm sure it lived "happily ever after".

Park

We made a trip in early spring to the park. It was still pretty cold outside, but the boys really enjoyed it. It was a fight to make them leave, even though their hands and face were bright red.

Alex really loves to swing.

This is what Alex spent most of the time doing. He kept doing circle after circle of the same thing. He would even say the same things. It was really fun to watch.

Bike ride

We took the boys down to the bike trail to ride bikes. (Since that time, Alex has upgraded to Brenton's bike, and Brenton has a new larger bike.) The boys had a great time. Alex spent most of his time collected rocks and placing them in his trike. This is where all of the Alex's rocks ended up. (They threw them off the bridge. Their favorite activity.)

This looks like Kale is pushing Brenton, but actually Brenton was pulling Kale. He had his blades on and for some reason thought Brenton needed to work harder.

He eventually had Alex helping pull him around. Can we say LAZY?! :)

Easter 2009

Kale's mom was here for Easter. We also had the Sevy's over. We colored eggs, ate pie, had an amazing dinner (thanks to the Sevy's).

We played Kale's new favorite game. Look at him rock!
Alex helped Danny out on the drums...

And the rest of us just enjoyed our time together.

Toddler Bed

Alex finally learned how to climb out of/fall out of this...

So we had to move him to this...Believe it or not, this was a VERY pink princess bed that the Sevy's gave us to use. I painted it the light brown color, and it worked great. Alex LOVED it.

Unfortunately, he is already out of this bed and into a twin-size bed. (I guess that's what happens when I take so long to update.)
Brenton was a little jealous of the new bed, but Alex was willing to share. He even tucked Brenton in.

Kale's 33 birthday!

I think Kale had a good birthday. You'd have to ask him to make sure. :) The boys enjoyed singing to him and watching him open presents. If the video of the boys singing to Kale EVER LOADS, you'll get to hear their lovely singing voices!

Snow (Beginning of March)

These were taken 3-8-09. I think it was our last snow storm. The boys loved playing outside with dad. They built their last snow tunnel, and Alex shoveled away while Brenton played with his dump truck moving the snow around.

The pictures of the boys in the housecoats were taken after they came in and had hot chocolate. It's amazing how much they love each other at times!

Updates

Ok. I know I've been promising updates for a LONG time. It looks like it was actually in February my last update took place. It's been so long since I really did update, that it seems like a lost cause. (Who wants to know what we were doing three months ago?) Here's a quick run on the last few months...

My brother Jason was decided to be the donor for my brother Scott's new kidney.
We celebrated Kale's 33rd!!!!!! birthday.
We had several other family birthdays that we celebrated from a distance.(Scott, Jason, Beth, and even Nikki)
We celebrated Easter.
I flew to WI for the kidney transplant which took place on April 15th.
We celebrated my 31st birthday.
We just returned late last night (well, actually this morning) from WI for a family vacation.

I will hopefully get some good pictures and real updates done today and into tomorrow. Wish me luck!
