Kelly and her boyfriend Mark came out for a visit. Kelly is my roommate from that one year in Denver, and Mark is her really cool boyfriend.
(Don't ask how Kelly has known me for this long, and is still my good friend. She amazes me.) I asked them how long they'd been dating, and after a day of deliberation, they came up with four months. It was great to meet Mark, and of course fun to spend time with him and Kelly. Brenton already calls Kelly "Aunt Kelly" and has ever since he could first talk. They left on Wednesday, and Brenton has said several times, in a very sad quivering voice, "I miss Aunt Kelly and Mark." (Of course it sounds more like "Ont Keele and Mork", but still cute.
Below: Mark, Kelly, Alex & Brenton

Above: We took Mark & Kelly on a mine tour. It actually was a first for us. Kind of neat and interesting.

Above: Our beloved bike path. The most beautiful parts are actually closed right now due to flooding. Kale and Mark took Brenton on a bike ride and had to ride through this water. This part of the trail is actually closed now.
Right before Mark & Kelly arrived, our valley surpassed flood stage. Our rivers have swelled well above flood level. We are actually on a boil water restriction. We have to boil our water to drink, eat, or even wash dishes. We've been buying bottled water to drink and cook with, but boiling water for dishes is NOT fun!

Above: Kelly & Alex at the Coeur D 'Alene park. The park sits right by the lake. There is a small beach you can go and play on. Well normally. Just two days after we were there, the beach is completely submerged in water.
It was a great trip, and I can't wait to see them again.
